Hamlet universal filament is an easy to print material suitable for any type of FDM 3D printers. Hamlet PLA (polylactic acid) is derived from vegetable starch, therefore from renewable sources. The material is biodegradable in water in a time ranging from 12 months to 5 years compared to plastic materials which take from 500 to over 1000 years to degrade. Its melting during printing occurs at low temperatures, not giving rise to vapors potentially harmful to health. Compared to ABS, PLA is less subject to the phenomenon of expansion and shrinkage depending on temperatures, favoring high quality printing even for large objects; the lower extrusion temperature leads to energy savings for the creation of 3D models. For these reasons PLA is the most popular printing material in the field of FDM 3D additive printing.
